Hospital Elevators

Monarch’s Hospital elevators are specially crafted for healthcare facilities.

Key Features :

  • They ensure smooth and quiet rides to minimize patient disturbance.
  • Spacious cabins accommodating stretchers and medical equipment.
  • Accurate levelling for seamless wheel chair and stretcher movement.

Safety Functions :

  • Automatic Rescue operation: When the elevator stops out of the door-open zone, it will move to the nearest floor at slow speed to release passengers in case of power failure.
  • Micro-levelling: Automatic correction of elevator landing level when there is a level difference between car and floor.
  • Emergency Alarm bell and car lighting: In the event of a power failure, this emergency supply from battery allows the operation of a light, fan and alarm bell.
  • Multi-beam door sensor: In the event that the beam paths are obstructed, this sensor, installed at the edge of the doors, will keep the doors open.
  • Emergency Brake release and Manual rescue operations: In the event the elevator is struck in between floors, an emergency brake release device provided in the machine room is used to open the brakes and allow the car to move in a controlled manner and bring it to nearest floor level.
  • Motor Overload Protection: Self-protection mode will be achieved if the temperature of the motor exceeds the preset value due to the heat made by motor itself or the high temperature in the environment. The car stops at the nearest floor, once the temperature falls down to normal, the car will recover.
  • Door load detector: When excessive door load has been detected while opening or closing, the doors immediately move in reverse direction.
  • Safe landing operation: If a car has stopped between floors due to some equipment malfunction, the controller checks the car and if it's considered safe to move the car, the car will move to the nearest floor at a lower speed and the doors will open.
  • Emergency exit on Cartop: An emergency trap door in the car roof to permit the rescue and evacuation of passengers.
  • Overload protection with indicator: If the load exceeds the rated load, the sound signal will be given out by speaker and ‘OVERLOAD’ will be displayed, the car door will not close, the elevator will not start. The overload condition is removed when the weight of the car falls below the rated load.
  • Access control: Our elevator integrated advance Access control systems to ensure that only authorized individuals can access specific floor or areas making our solution ideal for high security facilities. Necessary dry contacts shall be provided for interphase with access control system.
  • CCTV provision: Fiber optic /Co axial / CAT 6E Cable is used for close circuit television monitoring. This system enables the security personnel to monitor the movement inside the elevator.
  • Abnormal speed protection function: In the event that the elevator is moving downwards at an abnormally high speed, the brakes will be automatically engaged and the elevator will cease operation.

Operating Features :

  • Simplex collective control: This is fully automatic operation used for a single elevator system. Hall calls in the direction in which the elevator is travelling are responded to sequentially and when all calls in that direction are cleared, calls in the opposite direction are responded to. When there are no more calls, the elevator will stop at the last floor served.
  • Duplex collective control: This is a fully automatic operation used for a two-elevator system. Hall calls are responded to by whichever elevator that can serve the hall call faster. When there are no more calls, one of the elevators will stand by at the stand by floor while the other elevator will stay at the last floor served.
  • Fireman’s operation: During a fire when the fireman’s switch is activated, all car and hall calls are cancelled and the car immediately returns to pre-determined floor The designed fire lift then responds only to car which facilitates firefighting and rescue operations.
  • Next landing operation: If the Elevator do not open fully at destination floor, the door closes and the car automatically moves to the next or nearest floor where the doors will open.
  • Full load bypass: When a car is loaded to a predetermined percentage of capacity, weight sensing devices are activated causing the car to bypass further hall calls.
  • False call cancellation: If the number of registered car calls does not correspond to the car load, all calls are cancelled to avoid unnecessary stops.
  • Main floor parking: An available car always parks on the main floor with the doors open to reduce the passenger waiting time.
  • Building management system: A panel installed inside the engineering room or any other location inside the building helps to monitor each elevator status and operations using indicators.

Service Function :

  • Attendant operation: In this mode, an attendant manually controls the elevator’s movement using the Car operating panel. This allows them to determine the stop floors, control door opening and closing to ensure safe entry and exit and regulate operations to optimize usage during high traffic hours.
  • Independent operation: This operation system is used when there is a need to serve special passengers. Under this operation, all hall calls are disabled for the elevator and it is reserved for exclusive use of the special passengers.
  • Separated simplex operation: When duplex collective control or group control is used, a selector switch on the control panel is used to switch between parallel operation and independent operation.
  • Door Open/Close button light: Door open/close button will be highlighted if the button are pressed.
  • Reopen with Hall call button operation: Closing doors can be opened by pressing the hall button corresponding to the travel direction of the car.

Information Function :

  • Voice Announcement System: Information on elevator service such as current floor or service direction is heard by the passengers inside the car. The system will also make announcement on emergency operations.
  • Arrival chime audio signal: An electrical chime (located at the top and bottom of the elevator) will sound just before the arrival of the elevator.
  • Interphone system: An interphone system is provided for emergency communication between the elevator and the master unit on the ground floor.

Energy-Saving Functions :

  • Regenerative system: When traveling downwards with a heavy car load or upwards with a light car load, the traction machine acts as a power generator to transmit power back to the electrical network in the building.
  • Automatic turn-off of elevator light and fan: In the event that the elevator is not in use, the light and ventilation fan in the elevator are automatically turned off to conserve energy.
  • Energy Saving operation (Allocation control): When a call is registered the system controls car assignment considering near-future travelling distance of all elevators to conserve the energy.
  • LED lighting: Use of energy efficient LED lights in cabin helps in reducing electricity consumption and thereby reduces cost of operations.
